West Maui Eateries

You are on vacation in a paradise unlike any other on earth and if you are like most you do not wish to eat the same foods you can find on the mainland back home, you wish to try exotic treats. Well, West Maui has a variety of restaurants including American and Seafood if you decide to stick with what you know, or you can enjoy delectable foods from French, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Local cuisine, Mexican, and Pacific Rim. Give your taste buds a treat while visiting West Maui by trying the various foods around the area.

The best Chinese restaurant in West Maui is the China Boat located at 4474 Honoapiilani Road. The food is pretty good and not as expensive as you might think, for lunch the average meal is $ 8 to $ 15 and for dinner $ 12 to $ 25. To find the China Boat from Honoapillani Highway take the road at West Maui Airport all the way to the shoreline and then turn right. You will find the restaurant on the mountainside a little ways down.

When it comes to French restaurants, there are two on the list, Chez Paul and Gerard’s. Chez Paul is off the beaten path but everyone loves the food so much that you better be sure to make a reservation. Be prepared to pay more for the food as well. On average, your meal could be $ 30 to $ 50, however, if you desire to try beluga caviar hors d’oeuvre you can add another $ 66 to your meal. To find this quaint restaurant you will find it at mile marker 15 on Highway 30 at 821 B Olowalu Road in Olowalu.

Gerard’s is another expensive restaurant however, the food is not as great as you will find at Chez Paul’s. You can enjoy such treats as lamb, venison, pork, beef, veal, fish, and chicken with a price tag of around $ 35 to $ 60. Gerard’s is easy to find though in Lahaina on Lahainaluna at the Plantation Inn.

When it comes to pizza, the best restaurant in West Maui has to be BJ’s Chicago Pizzeria at 730 Front Street in Lahaina. The pizza is delectable and the price is reasonable between $ 9 and $ 18. If you are looking for a more upscale Italian restaurant with other menu items then you must try Vino’s. Vino is located in Kapalua at the golf course clubhouse off Office Road nearby Highway 30. Yes, I said golf course, might not be believable, however, the food is heavenly. Some of the treats you can enjoy include Ravioli, pork chop Milanese, lamb shanks, lump crab, and pappardelle Bolognese. Prices are not bad either from $ 20 to $ 30 for dinner.

If you want to enjoy local foods while you are here then you can visit Aloha Mixed Plate and Honokowai Okazuya Deli. You can find Aloha Mixed Plate north of downtown Lahaina on Front Street close to the Mala Ramp. You can enjoy such treats as Kalua pig sandwiches, lomi lomi salmon, and chow funn noodles. Prices run around $ 6 to $ 12. Honokowai Okazuya Deli offers such cuisine as teriyaki steak, spaghetti and sausage, fresh fish, Kung pao, chicken, and steamed tofu. Lunch and dinner will cost around $ 7 to $ 11. Honokowai Okazuya Deli is located north of Ka’anapali on Lower Honoapiilani Road.

As you can see, you are sure to enjoy many of the delightful restaurants all over West Maui instead of stopping at the local burger joint. Many of these restaurants also have unique views that are sure to wet your appetite for more than just food.
