Renting Cars in Maui

There is no need to worry about whether you can find dependable transportation once you reach your destination – Maui.

However, just because you can find car rental agencies at Kahului Airport, Kapalua Airport, and Hana Airport does not necessarily mean one will be available. It is always in your best interest to call and reserve a car before you arrive. If you do not have a rental car, you will more than likely miss out on many of the unique and wonderful experiences that you can only get to with your transportation.

When you are planning your trip to Maui, you should talk with your hotel, condo, or any rental agent that you are using to see if they have any package deals for accommodations and transportation. Many of the accommodations now offer such packages so you can enjoy your vacation and see sights that are unattainable without a vehicle.

Just like in the continental United States, you can find all the major car rental companies. The list of these along with their contact information includes:

While cruising around Maui you may wish to look the part of a movie star or at least enjoy a ride with the top down. You can do this by driving around in some in the exotic cars you find to rent which include such models as vipers, vettes, Porsches, and others. However, you had better be ready to shell out around $ 225 to $ 400 per day. You can find them for less but for only half a day instead of a full day. A few of the companies that offer these exotic rides include:

Island Riders in Kihei
874-0311

Aloha Toy Store in Lahaina
662-0888

Hawaiian Riders in Lahaina
662-4386

However, you may wish to ride around on a motorcycle on scooter. If so, you are in luck. There are a few places where you can rent a motorcycle and ride around with in style. For motorcycles, you can call Aloha Toy Store in Lahaina at 662-0888, Hawaiian Riders in Lahaina at 662-4386, and Island Rider in Kihei at 974-0311. Now, do not faint when you hear the cost. To rent a motorcycle for a full 24 hours you are looking at $ 125 to $ 199. You can rent one for $ 100 to $ 150 if you only need one for to 6 hours. Remember, to check out the motorcycle before you drive away as some may not be in the best condition.

Scooters rentals are quite a bit cheaper. You can rent one for around $ 40. You can find scooter rentals at Aloha Toy Store in Lahaina at 662-0888 and Island Riders in Kihei at 974-0311.

Some people think they desire a four-wheel drive vehicle; however, in Maui there are not many places to use this type of vehicle. The only real place to drive a 4WD is some remote areas in West Maui such as the Blue Pool. In most cases, the money you spend is not worth the time you can enjoy using this type of off the road vehicle.

As you can see, you do not have to worry about finding transportation all over Maui including rental vehicles of all kinds. Just remember you will need to bring along your drivers license in order to rent any vehicle.
