The resort area is on the Kohala Coast on the big island of Hawaii just 20 miles north of the Keahole-Kona airport. The Mauna Lani Point is enveloped by two Francis I'I Brown golf courses on three sides and looking across the fairway gives you a beautiful view of the ocean.
The Mauna Lani resort boasts well manicured gardens with many streams and fountains meandering throughout. There are eight pools scattered about with ample areas to BBQ. Access to the beach is either a short 5 minute drive or a lovely 10 to 15 minute walk along the ocean. When you arrive at the white sand beach, you will find it is located in a cove which gives one a very private feeling. There is excellent snorkelling here, a private beach club with a restaurant for lunch, and a beach hut which provides towels and reserves activities such as whale watching.
