Visiting the Beautiful Island of Maui

Of all of the beautiful islands that make up Hawaii, many people claim that Maui is the most beautiful. Maui attracts visitors from near and far, of all ages and from all walks of life. Maui is a perfect destination for lovers, for those looking for a serene, relaxing setting, and even for those that want to party Hawaiian style!

Maui provides lodging of all types so that everyone who visits will feel very at home. You can camp, stay in rustic cabins, enjoy affordable motels, or even enjoy a five star hotel. Whatever your speed is, you can find great lodging that will allow you to take in the beautiful Hawaiian landscapes while enjoying the comfort and clean space of Hawaii lodging. In Maui you can choose to stay right on one of the beaches or you can stay a bit off the beach, but still be within walking distance. Most of the hotels and motels are situated so that patrons can walk to just about everything they need to get to including shopping and dining. Families that are vacationing in Maui may find any one of the family friendly condominiums a great bargain, as it will afford space, beauty, and affordability.

When you come to Maui you can do one of two things, come with a planned agenda or allow the Aloha spirit to move you and decide from day to day or even hour to hour what you would like to do. You can choose to walk on the beaches, go snorkeling to see what is under the sparkling blue waters, go hiking, or even go on a bicycle ride that will take you along some of the most breathtaking sites in all of Hawaii. Another popular trend is to rent scooters to scoot your way around the island to all of the things and places that you would like to see.

If you want to do something more than average, you can always take a helicopter ride around Maui and the other islands. Helicopter rides are a type of state of the art sight seeing that will allow you to behold the beauty of Hawaii in a way that you never would have otherwise. Experienced pilots can fly you close to plummeting water falls, over dense tropical jungles, and over the more populated hills and valleys that are inhabited by people. Helicopter rides may seem a bit pricey, but from the moment you take off and behold the sparkling blue waters until the minute you land and much later you will believe that it is the best money you have ever spent. Helicopter rides are considered a “must-see” by many a Maui expert.

If you want to challenge yourself in Maui, you can always take a hike through Haleakala Crater. This will definitely challenge all of your athletic abilities, but again, you will be taken with the simple beauty of the land around you. The crater usually takes a whole day to explore, but when you get there and begin your hike you will realize that there isn’t much else that would be worth dedicating a whole day to.

After a long day hiking or biking you may want to just sit back and relax. There are many restaurants that are right on the beach that will allow you to dine right on the beach, or almost on the beach. Beautiful patios and outdoor dining experiences are the essence of Maui and the experience will leave a lasting impression. You can choose to eat all of your meals outdoor in Maui, weather permitting, which is a lot of fun and will make your vacation experience feel all the more Hawaiian.

There is a lot to see and do when you are in Maui, so it is a good idea to learn a bit about the area before you travel. You don’t have to come up with a minute by minute itinerary, but it’s a good idea to write a list of the things that you would like to see while visiting so that you can see as many as possible. If you are traveling with many people or as a family discuss what everyone would like to see and try to see at least one thing on everyone’s list so that it is a fun vacation for all.

While Maui is very beautiful, there is usually one complaint of those that visit. The complaint is that there is simply too much to see, do, and enjoy while on the island and it requires at least one return trip just to get the “must-see” items out of the way! Of course, many people use this complaint as an excuse to return to Hawaii again and again, so perhaps it really isn’t a complaint at all!
